Naruto is one of the greatest manga and anime series of all time, it can be easily put in the bracket of the top 10 anime of all time! It’s an anime about Shinobis and mostly focused on the world of Ninjas, the story of Naruto who is a jinchuriki and has a nine-tailed fox inside his body. Now there are some amazingly powerful and well-created characters in the anime, and some of them are so overpowered that they can defeat a whole army by themselves.
If you are a Naruto fan then you know that the series is stuffed with some amazing fights, from hand-to-hand combat to throwing huge jutsus at each other. The Anime has everything which an otaku would need to watch, there are characters who are even more famous and loved than the protagonist of the show. Some of them are Minato, Madara, Hashirama, and Itachi, who are in the Naruto anime for only a short amount of time. But the mark they left on the series, made the fans even love them more. 20. The Battle of Legendary Sanins (Episode 96)
Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru were the Original Team 7 and they were best friends who would protect the leaf village from enemies. But as they grew older, Orochimaru who was a student of the Third Hokage too, developed an obsession for finding out new jutsus and trying to acquire them. This obsession led him to betray the leaf village, and he went on to fight Tsunade and Jiraiya! This fight between the 3 Legendary Sanin was amazing, but Orochimaru escaped them and joined the Akatsuki and later went on to kill the 3rd Hokage.
19. Sakura vs Sasori (Episode 26, NS)
Despite being the weakest in Team 7, Sakura Haruno went on to display her strong powers and intellect during this fight. Sasori was one of the smartest and strongest warriors of Akatsuki, but with the help of Chiyo, Sakura managed to defeat him. The fight was a tough one and at some point, we also thought that it would be the end of Sakura, but the way she turned and used the power she learned under Tsunade her Sensei, helped her defeat the Akatsuki. This fight in Naruto Shippuden was the reason that Sakura earned some respect from the fandom, but there’s a meme that Sasori is shamed by the other Akatsuki members because he was beaten by Sakura.
18. Rock Lee & Gaara vs Kimimaro (Episode 123)
Rock Lee is one of the best fighters from the Naruto series, he has managed to give some amazing showdowns in the anime. Kimimaro is a character who can use his bones to attack and create jutsus, he managed to outsmart and push Lee on his back foot. But Lee uses his secret technique to beat Kimimaro, which is he gets drunk and turns into Drunk Lee who is the most powerful version of himself. He manages to dodge every attack by his opponent, but when he is about to get beaten, he is saved by Gaara. The Kazekage helps Lee defeat Kimimaro, who would have thought that they would team up to beat an opponent in the future after the Chunin Exams.
17. Team 7 vs Hidan & Kakuzu (Episode 86, NS)
When Ino, Choji, and Shikamaru decide to avenge their Sensei’s death, then Kakashi agrees to join them and help them defeat Kakuzu and Hidan. The battle is a very long one and went on for many episodes, but we got to see the Copy Ninja Kakashi go all out during his showdown vs Kakuzu! Even though the fight was in team 7 favor, they were struggling to beat this person with several hearts. But Naruto arrived with his new technique called “Rasen-Shuriken” and managed to kill Kakuzu! The revenge was completed when Hidan was killed by Shikamaru on the other side, he managed to avenge Asuma Sarutobi!
16. Sasuke vs Deidara (Episode 122)
Deidara being one of the strongest members of the Akatsuki wanted the smoke, he took on Sasuke Uchiha fearlessly and went all out during the huge showdown. Deidara already hated the Sharingan users, when he was encountered by Itachi and saw the power, he knew he wasn’t stronger than him. He joined the Akatsuki so he could become stronger, and during his showdown with Sasuke Uchiha Deidara used all his big attacks. Where he also turned himself into a huge Figure and activated his self-destruct, his plan was to take Sasuke with him to the afterlife. Somehow Sasuke managed to escape the large-scale blast, but the fight remains and deserves to be one of the 20 Best Fights in Naruto Series.
15. Madara Uchiha vs The Five Kages (Episode 323)
Madara Uchiha was a total menace to the shinobi world when he appeared during the 4th Great Ninja War, he went on to take a whole army of Shinobi and defeated half of them. Then he agreed to a showdown between him and the Five Kages! He single-handedly broke their spirits and their bones, and the most badass part was when he asked the Kages “Do you want my Clones to use Susano or not?” It was like he saw them as mere kids and not some fighters who could do him any harm, Madara was also ashamed that Tsunade belonged to the Hashirama family and said that the blood has went on to become weaker over time. This O.P Fight deserves a spot in our 20 Best Fights in Naruto Series.
14. The Uchiha Brothers vs Kabuto (Episode 334)
Kabuto was one evil person who revived all the strong characters using the Rebirth Jutsu, which even Orochimaru used to revive the Hokages during the War. One of the people he brought back to life was Itachi Uchiha, but Itachi being string broke the control Kabuto had over him. Even after he was dead, he still managed to save the Leaf village and played a huge part by defeating Kabuto with Sasuke, the battle went on for a long time and the Uchiha Brothers were finding no way out.
Kabuto said that he is immortal and just doesn’t have a weakness, to which Itachi replied “Every Jutsu has a weakness, your jutsus weakness is my existence”. He managed to trap Kabuto in Izanami, where he would go through the same moment forever.
13. Team 7 vs Zabuza & Haku (Episode 12)
The first biggest fight of Team 7 was when they faced Haku and Zabuza the deadly duo, Kakashi was at his best during the fight and managed to take on the powerful swordsman Zabuza! Meanwhile, Sasuke and Naruto were finding it very difficult to beat Haku, they were outsmarted and hurt by his jutsus. But they teamed up and took on the battle, there was a moment when Naruto could have died by Hakus Ice Spears but Sasuke protected and took them on.
When he fainted, Naruto thought his teammate had died and activated the Kyubi Chakra which helped him beat Haku, and on the other side, Zabuza was beaten by the Kakashi of the Sharingan. A fight that showed us Naruto, Kakashi, and Sasuke fight together, it has to be in our 20 Best Fights in Naruto Series.
12. Naruto vs Gaara (Episode 43)
Back when Gaara was a monster and killed people for no reason, Naruto managed to fight him and his Shukaku during the Chunin Exams. Naruto summoned Gamabunta whom he used to fight with Shukaku, Gaara was annoyed with is never giving up attitude and gave everything in this fight to kill Naruto. Naruto used his clone jutsu and created hundreds of clones that took over the demon!
We saw this fight being a draw, where Naruto managed to change Gaara’s life with his speech. It was an emotional moment when he said that he understands where the hate comes from in Gaara’s life. After this fight, Gaara became the Kazekage and became Naruto’s best friend for life.
11. Jiraiya vs Pain (Episode 130, NS)
Ahh, we all know that this one is literally filled with Pain, the fight where Jiraiya took on a group of Pains alone! He managed to kill and harm some of them but in the end, he had to transform into his Sage mode. The power these Tendo Pain had was crazy and even Jiraiya was beaten and put on his knees during the fight, Pervy Sage managed to figure out the way these Tendo work and put on the back of the Frog Gramps. When they saw him delivering the message, they launched a powerful attack that went on to kill Jiraiya sama. It was considered to be one of the most emotional deaths in Naruto’s history. But the way Jiraiya took them on, and still managed to help the lead despite his death makes us put this battle into our 20 Best Fights in Naruto Series.
10. Sasuke vs Danzo (Episode 481)
Even though we know that the reason Danzo behaved the way he did was for the safety of the Leaf. But the way he used Roots to defeat the morals of the village was evil, he managed to provoke the 3rd Hokage and other elders that the Uchihas need to be exterminated. He was the reason Itachi killed the Uchiha Clan, and when Sasuke found out about this, he was ready for revenge.
The battle went on when Sasuke chased Danzo out of the Kage meeting, he used his Susano and other strong abilities against him. Danzo had used the Sharingan of the dead Uchiha for his own use and fused them into his arms and body and it enraged Sasuke even more. He went on to kill Danzo and avenged his clan and his brother Itachi.
9. Shikamaru vs Hidan (Episode 86, NS)
Shikamaru wasn’t lazy or laid back during this fight, as he was on a mission to avenge his sensei Asuma. The fight between Hidan and Shikamaru went on strongly, but we all know how smart Shikamaru is! Hidan was outsmarted and walked right into the trap the Nara successor had set. Where Hidan was caught in the trap of Paper Bombs, and he would fall into a pit after his body had burst into pieces. Shikamaru dragged Hidan into the Holy Forest where only the Nara clan was allowed, he then buried Hidan there while he lit a cigarette for the soul of Asuma Sarutobi. Shikamaru’s brilliance puts this showdown into the 20 Best Fights in Naruto Series.
8. Hashirama vs Madara (Episode 19, S7)
Both Madara and Hashirama belonged to the clans who hated each other, but somehow fate made them friends. They shared a dream of a village where both the Senju and Uchiha would stay together peacefully, even the “Leaf” was named after Uchiha Madara. Hashirama went on to become the 1st Hokage and because of the distrust from Tobirama and other Senju Madara left the village. He always wanted to battle Hashirama but the latter didn’t want to go on a death match with his friend, the fight between them went on for days and in the end, Hashirama killed Madara and ended the life of his only best friend. We are sure if these both combined, even now nobody would be able to take on this duo, the fight between them is the 20 Best Fights in Naruto Series.
7. Naruto vs Pain (Episode 163)
After the Akatsuki invaded the leaf village and killed many innocent lives, it was hard for the people to understand the situation as the Pain had entered without any warning. Naruto was away from the village and was training in the Toad world learning Sage Jutsu, but when he found out he made an entry like a true hero wearing clothes similar to his late sensei Jiraiya.
He had turned more powerful and managed to kill one of the Pain with one move, he went on to bully other tendo pains too. The final fine between Naruto and Pain was crazy and the animation was the best, nobody would have thought that Naruto would be powerful enough to defeat Pain and that’s the reason it is in our 20 Best Fights in Naruto Series.
6. Minato vs Obito (Episode 248)
The third Hokage fought a masked man when his child Naruto was born, and a lot of things happened on this day. He managed to figure out the technique of this masked warrior who called himself Madara, but actually, it was his own student Uchiha Obito who was Kakashi’s best friend who they thought died when the rock crashed him. Obito was a kid and even then, he went on toe to toe with his own sensei, he was trained by Uchiha Madara who made him a Kage-level fighter in a few months.
Minato was fast and smart and the move he made to dodge Obitos technique was smart, he then went on to land a Rasengan and mark his body. This move even deactivated his seal with the Nine-Tails who were under his control. Students and Sensei trying to kill each other are normal in the Naruto series.
5. Rock Lee vs Gaara (Episode 48)
The most entertaining fight of the Naruto series is here, Rock Lee vs Gaara was a joy to behold for every anime fan and the clips are still circulating in 2022! They faced each other during the Chunin Exam, first, we saw Gaara overpowering and dodging Lees’s kicks and punches with his ultimate protection of Sand. But when Lee did that Thing! When he dropped his weights and moved like lightning then it was tough for the shinobi of sand to keep up with him.
Lee opened the 5th gate of his body that allowed him to turn into a superhuman and this is where Gaara was kicked around by him, he was attacked by Rock Lee’s Lotus which put Gaara to ground. But the after-effects of such a powerful technique were harmful, and Gaara then tried to kill Lee but he was saved by his teacher Might Guy. This showdown is one of the best in anime and has to be present in the 20 Best Fights in Naruto Series.
4. Kakashi vs Obito (Episode 18, NS)
Obito had totally misunderstood and thought that it was Kakashi who killed Rin, he grew with hatred all these years and wanted to kill Kakashi. When Obito was revealed to be the Mask man, Guy and Kakashi were both shocked and thought it was impossible as he had died in front of his eyes. When Kakashi asked Obito why would you do this, to which he replied “Because you let Rin die”.
The battle between Kakashi and Obito was so beautifully animated that it made the fans emotional, two kids who were best friends are adults and trying to kill each other. The fight ended in a draw and when Kakashi later found Obito lying injured on the battlefield, he went on to kill him but Minato stopped him from doing so. He said that you don’t have to carry the burden of killing your own friend, everything was perfect in this fight from the visuals to the nostalgia.
3. Sasuke vs Itachi (Episode 140, NS)
In the battle of the Uchiha Brothers, the sons of Fugaku were motivated to kill each other in this showdown. Sasuke had lived his life and gave away himself to Orochimaru so he could find the power to kill Itachi Uchiha. The Shurikens and Kunais used in this battle were crazy, we all know how skillful Itachi was with the shuriken jutsus. We saw them going all out and trying to put each other in control, the best part was when Sasuke thought he had stabbed Itachi in his heart but then saw him sitting feet away on a throne like the king he is!
The Fight was a visual treat and we saw Itachi using his Susano, during the fight, there were moments when Sasuke looked scared of Itachi. In the end, he was cornered by his susano and scared to die, that’s when we saw that head flick, and Itachi died on the spot. That death wasn’t because of Sasuke, it was because of an underlying disease he had. The Uchiha battle of brothers is one of our top picks in the 20 Best Fights in Naruto Series.
2. Guy vs Madara (Episode 418)
Madara vs Guy during the 4th Great Ninja War was a crazy fight! A mere fighter who wasn’t let enter the Ninja Academy during his youth managed to take on a God like Madara Uchiha! Might Guy be always one of the most feared shinobi from the leaf village, remember when he appeared to save Kakashi and Itachi said to Kisame that we shouldn’t mess with him, and then they fled.
Well, this guy who doesn’t use Ninjutsu would take on Madara Uchiha the strongest Uchiha in history. Madara was at his best and almost a god when the battle took place, Guy had to activate all his 8 Gates and went on to harm Madara badly. When he used Night Guy, he knew it would be the last attack and he might die killing Madara, he didn’t hesitate a bit and paid tribute to his father and went on to break Madara’s ribs! Imagine Uchiha Madara saying “I Declare you the Strongest” The fight between Guy and Madara will be remembered for ages, and its on the second spot of our 20 Best Fights in Naruto Series.
1.Naruto vs Sasuke (Episode 4, NS)
After the 4th Great Ninja War ended, Sasuke still wanted to fight Naruto and had an image of a village he wanted to create. They went to the Valley of death and poetically stood over Hashirama and Madaras heads, then we saw visuals of their younger selves running toward each other while the fight started. The showdown had begun and it wasn’t going to be a normal one, as both of them possessed the six paths chakra which made them stronger than anyone in the shinobi world.
The battle went on and on and nobody backed down, then they both went for a final powerful attack where Sasuke used Chidori and Naruto his Rasengan. When they created a powerful wave that was felt by Kakashi who was five villages away from them, the result of this fight ended in a draw and they both almost died. However, Sasuke and Naruto had both lost their arms and saw each other’s memories when they were sleeping due to the blood loss. This final showdown brought them closer and turned Sasuke into someone who would protect the leaf with Naruto. This fight between two friends was the best one in the 20 Best Fights in Naruto Series.
