This guide explains our print-on-demand production standards, material behavior, and packaging protocols. Our goal is to set realistic expectations and ensure you are delighted with your custom-manufactured items.
As every item is produced individually after your order is placed, minor variations can occur across different production batches. These are not defects but a result of the unique digital-to-physical manufacturing process.
1. Color & Display Calibration
It is important to understand that colors shown on screens (RGB) will vary from physical prints (CMYK). Screens are backlit and highly saturated, while paper absorbs ink differently depending on ambient lighting. Small shifts in saturation or contrast are normal industry standard for high-volume custom printing.
2. Typical Print Characteristics
- Tone Shifts: Expected minor variations between monitor display and ink-on-paper.
- Trimming: Edge trimming tolerances of 1-3mm are standard.
- Fine Detail: High-detail artwork may appear subtly softer on certain textured papers.
- Aesthetic Grain: Items labeled “Vintage” or “Retro” intentionally feature grain and weathering.
3. Materials & Finishing
Specific material details are listed on each individual product page. Below is a general overview of our standard media.
Poster & Art Paper
- Optimized for clarity, depth, and framing.
- Available in Matte, Satin, or Gloss (as specified per listing).
- Whiteness and texture may vary slightly by facility batch.
Canvas & Specialty Media
- Textured canvas surfaces naturally soften micro-details for a “painted” feel.
- Mounting and edge wrapping vary by product configuration.
4. Packaging & Protection
We use industry-leading packaging to ensure your art arrives in pristine condition. Depending on size, items may ship in:
- Heavy-duty reinforced tubes (for posters).
- Rigid stay-flat mailers.
- Corner protectors and tamper-resistant wrapping (for framed/canvas items).
5. Long-term Care Instructions
- Avoid Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct UV rays may cause fading.
- Humidity: Store in a dry environment to prevent paper warping or “cockling.”
- Handling: Always hold prints by the edges to prevent skin oil marks.
- Cleaning: Use a dry microfiber cloth only. Avoid chemicals or moisture.
