On 21st July, the official twitter account of One Piece tweeted a video regarding Volume 103, in that video you can see the process of creating this Manga Volume Cover from the scratch. The most talked about topic was about the color scheme of Luffy’s Fifth Gear, some thought it was golden and some thought it must be white or lavender. Finally, we can see the color scheme Oda and his team had chosen for Luffy’s new transformation and it looks amazing. The Cover has Kaido in his angry look and Luffy in his fifth gear jumping over Kaido’s Head. You also spot a fan favorite Trafalgar Law and Eustass Kid owning the corners of the volume, the purple lavender is the base scheme for the manga’s cover and it looks beautiful.
The official channel of One Piece on YouTube went ahead and released this motion picture animation video which shows us the glimpse of the tales in this manga volume, the fans feel exhilarated by this video and it charged them up even more to buy the physical copy. According to the information in the tweet, the cover for volume 102 was made by Eichiro Oda himself digitally and was finished by the old school pen and paper technique.
The One Piece Volume 103 will have Chapter 1036 to Chapter 1047, the manga has the part where Luffy learns his new power the “Fifth Gear” and unlocks it wondefully. This new godly transformation allows Luffy to turn anything he touches into Rubber! The Manga was released in Japan on 4th August 2022 and the sales started rocketing since the first day.
It became the bestselling Manga in Japan and took the first place by beating Jujutsu Kaisen Volume 20 and Dragon Ball Super Volume 19, it sold over 1,345,149 Volumes till now and is still going strong.
