Bleach is the best anime right now streaming in 2022, there is strong competition from Chainsaw Man & Blue Lock, but the Thousand years of Blood War Arc has taken the series to another level. Imagine having an active fanbase even after you released an arc after 12 years, now that’s the power of Bleach and Tite Kubo. The new arc is about the War between the Quincy and the Soul Reapers, the war has been going on for 1000 years and now the Quincy King has returned to avenge his people. You see Ywach, enters the soul society with his Sternritters and starts killing innocent Soul Reapers, he even managed to outsmart the strongest Soul Reaper, the Head Captain Yamamoto Shigekuni!
The ones who read manga know how the anime will end, but some are curious about why did Ichigo try to kill the Soul King when he was sent there to protect him. It was one of the strangest things during the arc, the fans couldn’t come to terms with why would Ichigo kill the Soul King. The soul king was already there with Ywach’s sword in his chest, but what happened next that shocked the readers. Don’t worry as we will explain to you what happened in short, keep reading further.
Ichigo arrived with his friends at the Soul King’s palace in order to protect the Soul King, he tried to pull out the sword from Soul King’s chest and once he pulled it out he did the unthinkable. Kurosaki Ichigo went on to slash the Soul Kings Torso and cut him into two pieces, while doing this the Quincy Blut Vein was visible on his hand. It was almost impossible for someone like Ichigo to manage to slash the Soul King into two pieces, the person who was the father to Ywach and also the person who created the Soul Society and everything else in it!
When Ichigo cut the Soul King, it wasn’t him doing it, it was Ywachs power in the sword that went through his body and awakened the Quincy Powers. It was as if Ywach controlled Ichigo and made him Kill the Quincy King. Even Ukitake who is the right hand of the Soul King manages to use Mimihagi to save the soul king and put him back together, Captain Ukitake was ready to sacrifice his own body for the soul king to survive. But it leads to nothing as Ywach manages to absorb the soul king and the mimihagi, he becomes more powerful by being one with the Soul King now! So, that was the reason Ichigo was seen killing the Soul King, and whatever he did was done unwillingly.
