Alice Walker’s Pulitzer Prize-winning story found its visual soul in this 1985 theatrical release, featuring a bold high-contrast silhouette against a rich violet field. The composition centers on a delicate figure holding a letter, a powerful nod to the film’s epistolary roots and the emotional journey of its protagonist.
