Austin’s premier genre film festival once commissioned a visual that captures the very essence of cosmic horror and sci-fi obsession. This print showcases a grid-textured silhouette cradling a colossal, veined green iris against a backdrop of swirling interstellar clouds and electric lightning.

About 2000s film posters

2000s posters were shaped by digital design and the rise of franchise cinema. Science fiction posters often show what the film promises: other worlds, new technology and a sense of wonder. The original image dates from 2008. From Metropolis to modern blockbusters, sci-fi posters have tracked how each era imagined the future.

Styling this 2000s movie poster

Green tones give this 2000s movie poster a vibrant character that holds a room. In a dorm room, “Fantastic Fest” works as a 24×36″ statement piece above a console, or at 12×18″ to 16×20″ in a hallway or gallery wall. The green palette of “Fantastic Fest” sits beautifully with houseplants, terracotta and cream textiles; finish it with a thin black or white frame. “Fantastic Fest” also anchors a gallery wall well; surround it with smaller green pieces at even 2–3 inch gaps.
