About Marc Chagall

Marc Chagall (1887–1985) was born in present-day Belarus and worked mainly in France. Chagall’s floating lovers, violinists and village scenes draw on folk tradition and memory. The original image dates from 1981. His saturated blues and reds give his work a dreamlike glow on the wall. He created stained glass, ballet designs and the ceiling of the Paris Opera, as well as paintings and prints.
