About Marc Chagall

Marc Chagall (1887–1985) was born in present-day Belarus and worked mainly in France. Chagall’s floating lovers, violinists and village scenes draw on folk tradition and memory. His saturated blues and reds give his work a dreamlike glow on the wall. He created stained glass, ballet designs and the ceiling of the Paris Opera, as well as paintings and prints.
