Product description
Soft blue light spills across a dreamlike landscape where gravity no longer holds sway. This print captures Marc Chagall’s 1931 masterpiece, depicting a central couple suspended in an embrace above the undulating peaks of the French Alps.
About Marc Chagall
Marc Chagall (1887–1985) was born in present-day Belarus and worked mainly in France. Chagall’s floating lovers, violinists and village scenes draw on folk tradition and memory. Expressionist artists used bold colour and distorted forms to convey feeling rather than appearance. The original image dates from 1931. His saturated blues and reds give his work a dreamlike glow on the wall.
Styling this Marc Chagall print
This Marc Chagall print pairs a vibrant atmosphere with a blue palette that is easy to build a room around. The tall format of “Lovers at Peyra-Cava” suits narrow walls, hallways and the space beside a doorway, and it is a natural fit for a study or living room; 18×24″ is a versatile middle size. The blue palette of “Lovers at Peyra-Cava” pairs naturally with white walls, navy or denim textiles and pale oak; finish it with a black or antique-gold frame.
