Product description
There is a rhythmic, pulsating quality to the soft lavender field that serves as the foundation for this composition. Swirling yellow ribbons of light and delicate pink flourishes dance across the canvas, framing a series of organic, planetary circles in shades of cream, blue, and sun-warm gold.
About Hilma af Klint
Hilma af Klint (1862–1944) was a Swedish painter now recognised as a pioneer of abstract art. Her large spiritual paintings, made from 1906 onwards, predate many famous abstract works. Af Klint’s symbols, spirals and soft colours suit calm, contemporary rooms.
Styling this Hilma af Klint print
The blue, yellow and gold colour scheme gives this Hilma af Klint print a clear, confident presence. The tall format of “Adulthood” suits narrow walls, hallways and the space beside a doorway; 18×24″ is a versatile middle size. Finish “Adulthood” with a simple black or oak frame: its blue, yellow and gold palette pairs naturally with white walls, navy or denim textiles and pale oak. Build a gallery wall around “Adulthood”: add two or three smaller prints that echo its blue, yellow and gold and keep the gaps to 2–3 inches.
