Henri Matisse Jazz Exhibition Blue Birds Poster Art Print

Rooted in the experimental cut-out period of the mid-20th century, this composition highlights the legendary artist’s shift toward simplified forms and pure color. The matisse jazz wall art captures a sense of rhythmic movement through the depiction of four white birds soaring across a deep cerulean blue field.

About Henri Matisse

Henri Matisse (1869–1954) led the Fauves, painters known for bold, non-natural colour. His flat colour and flowing outlines make his work one of the most decorative choices for a modern home. Natural history bird illustrations were made to record species accurately, often life-size. Movements such as Fauvism, Cubism and Expressionism all grew out of early 20th-century modernism.

Styling this Henri Matisse exhibition poster

Blue tones give this Henri Matisse exhibition poster a vibrant character that holds a room. The tall format of “Jazz” suits narrow walls, hallways and the space beside a doorway, and it is a natural fit for a bedroom or living room; 18×24″ is a versatile middle size. Finish “Jazz” with a black or antique-gold frame: its blue palette pairs naturally with white walls, navy or denim textiles and pale oak.
