This 1915 composition utilizes a symmetrical, almost cellular structure where two large spherical orbs are connected by a spiraling, ribbon-like core.

About Hilma af Klint

Hilma af Klint (1862–1944) was a Swedish painter now recognised as a pioneer of abstract art. Her large spiritual paintings, made from 1906 onwards, predate many famous abstract works. Abstract works let viewers bring their own associations, so they rarely feel the same twice. Early abstract pioneers included Wassily Kandinsky, Piet Mondrian and Hilma af Klint.
