In East Asian folklore, the dark shadows on the lunar surface are said to be a moon rabbit pounding rice for mochi cakes. This print captures that celestial connection, depicting two snowy white hares with vibrant pink eyes huddled together on a grassy slope. The composition is balanced by a large, glowing full moon and slender stalks of purple clover that reach upward into a soft blue-grey sky.
